Protec-Ear SA is a custom made full-block acrylic CIC (completely in the canal) hearing protection device designed to provide the wearer with enough hearing protection to surpass the minimum specification as laid down by SABS 1452-1988 and certificated by the Department of Labour Occupational Health and Safety Regulation no. OSI/1/84. Protec-Ear SA hearing protectors can be fitted with two different filters which provide less attenuation (sound damping) and higher speech audibility. Attenuation results on the filters can be supplied on request – tests done in Europe according to ISO 4869-1.
The filters are imported from Europe, manufactured from precision machined stainless steel and the sound holes drilled by lasers to give the required attenuation by their specific length, shape and the size of the sound port.
When introducing a foreign object into the ear, the body’s natural reaction is to protect itself by producing additional wax. Wax is an important component of a healthy ear! However, wax can block the sound port of the hearing protector (if present), but can easily be cleaned by the user without the danger of damaging the product.
